OMG!! I totally misjudged this one. Dean and Norah’s story is now my absolute fave! How can something feel so amazing and yet break your heart at the same time? Once again, Amy Daws knocked it out of the park with this story. I found myself cracking up like crazy, especially during the scenes with Dean, Kate, and Lynsey. We all need friends like that in our lives! Who would’ve thought fake dating could be such a blast? It’s such a feel-good read. Seriously, you just can’t go wrong with an Amy Daws book. If you’re in the mood for some fun, look no further!
This has been my favorite book in the series, so far. I absolutely adore Josh and Lynsey’s uplifting story. Despite Josh’s challenges throughout the tale, you can’t help but root for him, just like Lynsey does. They truly complement each other, and their journey is filled with fascinating hurdles that only bring them closer together. This delightful story will have you laughing heartily while also feeling a touch of emotion as they navigate their heartfelt journey. Amy Daws has a remarkable talent for crafting the perfect rom-com!
Imagine meeting someone and eagerly agreeing to help them embrace new adventures (think ice fishing, ice climbing, and more) so she can rekindle a romance with her ex-boyfriend, only to unexpectedly fall in love with her yourself! Discovering that she is your best friend’s baby sister adds a delightful twist. Sam must navigate the challenge of concealing his feelings from Maggie while also keeping their budding connection a secret from her brother, Miles, leading to some truly hilarious moments. You’ll absolutely adore Sam and Maggie and find yourself cheering for their love story. Another fantastic read by Amy Daws!
Hey everyone, I just want to say sorry for not posting any book reviews lately—I’m totally slacking! I’ve got a ton of reviews to catch up on, but I had to share my thoughts on this “book” I just finished. I’m using quotes because you can’t really find this one on Amazon or Barnes & Noble, and honestly, if you could, I’d say save your cash!
I stumbled upon it through one of those ads that pop up, you know the kind that lets you read a few chapters and then tries to get you to buy coins to unlock more. The main ad really hooked me in. (Spoiler alert: that scene they teased? Yeah, it never happens.) I searched everywhere for the book because there’s no way I was falling for the coin trap, so I ended up shelling out $9.99 for a week just to read the whole thing. They had me totally invested with just those first few chapters, but boy was I mistaken. Trust me, I wanted to love it, but it totally disappointed me. I wasted 19 hours of my life on it, and to top it off, the book ended with no real closure!
The book’s premise is wild! So, our main girl was supposed to marry the King of the Werewolves, but she makes a break for it and heads to a hospital three hours away by plane to finish her residency. While she’s there, she ends up with this Alpha for three years, who turns out to be her “juvenile” mate—never heard that term before, but okay! He treats her like garbage, never marks her, and is busy pining over some other girl who left him. When the other girl decides to come back, he wants both of them! But she’s totally not having it, and then the King comes to rescue her and take her home. Surprise, surprise, the King is actually her “True” mate. But hold up, there’s a ton of drama with people wanting to get rid of them. In the end, she cuts ties with the Alpha while pregnant with his kid. Fast forward seven years later, and he runs into this little girl who calls him daddy because she recognizes him by his hair, eyes, those killer abs, and his ring. No, I’m not joking.
Besides all the obvious issues with the story, there’s one thing I just can’t get over: werewolves. First off, they only shift for, like, 5 minutes twice in the whole book. Twice! They hardly ever talk to their wolf. And when trouble hits, the warriors rushing in are all in human form. There’s no running in packs or even a pack house. It makes zero sense. Plus, she can’t mind link with anyone (and her father is an alpha) until the King does some little ritual, and then she can only mind-link with him, and she does that just once. Seriously, all the time! I mean, let’s be real—if you could chat with someone in your head, would you actually bother with a phone? And then there’s the King, right? He’s supposed to rule over several territories, including the ones she ran to, yet his best buds are just two alphas who are always around. Don’t they have a pack to manage? How do they even live there? In that tiny town, you’ve got her dad, who’s an alpha, a couple more alphas we know about, and the King. Oh, and her ex is acting like a complete creep, wanting her back so badly he’s stalking her. Remember, he was 3 hours away by plane, but somehow he’s there the whole time stalking her. I’m just saying, if you’re gonna write about something like werewolves, maybe you should do a bit of research!
I don’t wanna come off as ripping the book apart, ’cause it had some cool parts. But man, there were some totally cringy moments I just couldn’t shake off. And the drama? Way over the top! So many people chasing after them—her ex, his adopted sis, his half-bro, and his dad. Seriously, it was too much. And don’t even get me started on the ending! You’d think after all that craziness they’d end up together, but nah! Nineteen hours of my life that I can’t get back.
Another fantastic book from Amy Daws was exactly what I was hoping for! She has a wonderful way of making you feel completely immersed in the characters’ lives. They are incredibly relatable, and by the end, it feels like you’ve made lasting friendships with them. The lively banter between the characters often has me laughing out loud! It’s a delightful feel-good story that you can easily slip into and escape reality for a while. I can wholeheartedly say this book is an absolute must-read!
This is one of those fantastic books that everyone joyfully encouraged me to read. To be honest, the cover initially caught me off guard; I wasn’t quite sure what to think of it at first. A minotaur and a human? However, as I journeyed through the pages, the story blossomed with such elegance and depth that I quickly embraced their differences and became fully engrossed in the enchanting narrative. It beautifully showcases the profound bond that develops between these two characters, highlighting the incredible power of love to transcend boundaries and expectations. I found myself enchanted by the warmth and sincerity that radiate from their connection. And isn’t that what life is all about—learning to see someone through the lens of your heart and cherishing the unique qualities that each individual brings to the table?
The Wolf and the Crown of Blood is the quintessential dark fantasy romance every reader craves. It’s brimming with tantalizing intrigue, a plot that will keep you on the edge of your seat, and an energy that sets it apart from the rest—it’s an utterly mesmerizing experience. Best of all, it is a standalone. The narrative centers around Bryony, a fiercely determined princess bound to perform a biweekly ritual for the god Alexios. But when she falls from grace, he dispatches the captivating god Evander to end her life. However, Evander is utterly captivated by Bryony, postponing her fate. What unfolds is a spellbinding journey where the weak rise to power, villains transform into heroes, and enemies discover a love that’s impossible to ignore. If you have even a hint of an inclination towards romantasy, you must grab this book without delay. I’m counting the days until the next installment arrives, eagerly hoping it unfolds the riveting tale of Bastien and Theo.
I first caught wind of Yesteryear on Good Morning America when they mentioned it as this month’s book club pick. The way they talked about it made it sound super interesting, so I thought I’d really dig it. Turns out, I didn’t. I seriously considered DNFing it multiple times, but I promised myself I wouldn’t ditch a book once I started. If the author spent time writing it and I shelled out money for it, I figured I might as well see it through. I kept hoping it would get better, but I just couldn’t connect with the main character at all. There was nothing about her that pulled me in—no part of her life or the choices she made resonated with me. Sure, I love plenty of books where I don’t relate to the characters, but there’s usually something in the story that hooks me, and here, there was nada. By the time I finished, I was left thinking, “What the heck did I just read?” I could’ve rated it lower, but I really don’t like going below 3 stars. If you’re into the whole influencer-as-a-trad-wife thing, give it a shot and see what you think. Maybe you’ll love it, but for me? Nah, not really.
I was really surprised by this book! Turns out, there are more if I want to keep going, but honestly, I’m not super into them. I’m still out there looking for that awesome werewolf story.
This is one of those stories that showed up as an ad. You know, the type that lets you read a few chapters before you gotta either buy some coins or go hunting for it elsewhere. Thankfully, this one was available in other spots. It was a pretty decent werewolf tale, or maybe I was just in the mood for one and that bumped up my rating.
