This book is not for the faint of heart, but if you have the courage to face it, it’s an absolute must-read! I must confess, it lingered on my TBR pile for what felt like an eternity. Despite the glowing recommendations I received, I hesitated to dive in—I’m not entirely sure why. I approached this story completely unprepared, armed with only the knowledge that it was dark. When my friend reignited the conversation, I knew it was time to unearth it and discover the fervor surrounding it. And let me tell you, “WOW”! This narrative struck a chord deep within me, evoking a whirlwind of emotions. There were moments when I was perched on the edge of my seat, fervently hoping for their survival, and others when I was weeping uncontrollably, tears streaming down my face. I’m talking about soul-crushing, gut-wrenching sobs! I can’t fathom enduring what Dean and Cora went through, not only surviving but triumphantly navigating the trauma to seek happiness, peace, and love once again.
