Why did I wait so long to dive into this? I’ve had these on my TBR forever! Honestly, Sierra Simone tends to write about some pretty taboo stuff — at least the only book I’ve read from her was Priest. I knew I had to be in the right mood for it, but it kept calling to me whenever I saw it sitting there. Since the other book I was reading wasn’t grabbing my attention, I decided to put it aside for now and jump into this trilogy. And wow, am I glad I did! I couldn’t put it down. As soon as I finished one book, I was grabbing the next one. That’s why I’m reviewing them all together. First off, if you’re picking this up for the steamy scenes, you won’t be disappointed. They’re definitely dark. BUT, there’s so much more to these books. They’re kinda like a retelling of the King Arthur story. It’s about Maxen (Ash) who’s the President, Embry who’s the Vice-President, and Greer who’s the First Lady. But the story kicks off way before that. I don’t want to spoil too much — you know how I am about giving away plots. Just trust me, read it! There’s so much going on — war, politics, betrayal, forbidden love, secrets, kidnapping… I could keep going! This series makes you question a lot. And the ending? You totally won’t see it coming. That’s all I’m saying!
