My favorite book when I was a little girl was Pippi Longstocking by Astrid Lindgren. I always wished I could go on adventures with Pippi, and I guess I did through the pages of the book and my imagination. The whimsical escapades of Pippi, with her pig tails and unmatched strength, filled my days with excitement and wonder, taking me to places far beyond the confines of my hometown. I admired her fearless spirit and her ability to create her own rules in a world that often seemed so strict. Her friendships with Tommy and Annika showed me the importance of loyalty and fun, while her antics taught me to embrace my own quirks. What was a book that you read as a child that stuck with you?

When I was a little kid, I totally Loved it when my mom would take me to the library and let me stack up on books. I was beyond excited to dive into all the adventures waiting for me in each story. Even as I grew up, my book obsession never faded. My favorite spots are still libraries or bookstores, and honestly, there’s nothing like escaping into those pages. I’m down for any genre – well, maybe not horror. I love all kinds of books! You can really get lost in them. Each one’s a new journey, introducing you to fresh placed and characters. One minute I’m soaring on the back of a dragon, and the next, I’m hanging out with a buddy in Vegas. If you’ve got a book in hand, you’re never really alone. And will all the tech nowadays, you can have a book ready to go on your Kindle or phone anytime!

What’s the one book you’ve read this year that you plan on rereading? For me, it’s like trying to pick my favorite snack – too many delicious options! I’ve devoured so many good book this year that my “Read Again” list is practically a novel itself. But if I must whittle it down, it would have to be The Bonds That Tie Series by J. Bree. Sure, it’s technology more than one book, but have, who’s judging? It’s a series, and that counts as one book in my book (pun intended)! There was just so many complex characters and twists that I think I need a map to navigate it all. The series has wormed its what into my brain like an ear-worm from a catchy song, I’m left pondering it like I’m trying to solve the mysteries of the universe. I definitely need to dive back in and perhaps even give it a new rating – who knows, maybe it’ll go for three stars to a galactic ten!

Restitution by Leigh River shattered me into a million pieces. In truth, the entire Edge of Darkness Trilogy left me breathless, but this particular installment had me weeping uncontrollably. My heart was mercilessly torn apart for Kade, and I felt an overwhelming ache for Stacey. And let’s not even get started on Lucille and Bash, or Jason—oh my goodness!!! Never in my life has a book, let alone a series, brought me to my knees like this one. It’s astonishing that more people aren’t raving about this masterpiece. Leigh Rivers is an absolute genius! I cannot recommend this enough. I could only award it 5 stars, but if they allowed for more, I would give it a hundred! It’s sheer perfection!! I’m beyond eager to dive into Tobias and Aria’s story in Psychotic Obsession next. I wholeheartedly recommend the audiobook as well—it’s incredibly good!

Words fail to capture the overwhelming intensity with which this book enraptured me. It plunges even deeper than Insatiable, leaving me in a relentless struggle between longing for the story’s conclusion and an insatiable craving for more. Leigh Rivers is an absolute virtuoso. She masterfully navigates the harrowing depths of various forms of abuse, laying bare the chilling reality of it all, while also revealing that at times, the assailant is, heartbreakingly, the victim. I was glued to the edge of my seat from beginning to end. And that cliffhanger she left us with—my goodness! It’s an undeniable work of art.

Wow! Insatiable by Leigh Rivers absolutely captivated me, leaving me utterly speechless. I experienced a whirlwind of emotions—I laughed, I cried, and I found myself on the edge of my seat, questioning my own sanity for diving into such an intense read. Yet, my goodness, this book is a masterpiece! And Kade—oh, how you can’t help but fall head over heels for him. I wholeheartedly recommend this book, but do take heed of the trigger warnings; there are moments that can be profoundly challenging to process. It’s undeniably dark and not for the faint of heart.

My cousin passionately urged me to dive into Weyward by Emilia Hart, a hauntingly beautiful tale that I had held off reading until the Halloween season, believing it to be a witchy narrative. While the elements of witchcraft do weave through the tale, the heart of the story pulses with the lives of three remarkable women and their complex relationships with men. Altha in 1619, Violet in 1942, and Kate in 2019—these women are intricately linked across time, their stories beautifully unfolding. Though I grappled with the shifting timelines and the constant back and forth due to my stroke, the exquisite prose and emotional depth resonated with me. By the end, I was exhilarated by how their lives converged, and I would wholeheartedly recommend this stunning book!
