I absolutely adore Brynne Weaver, and my excitement for this book was undeniably high! I eagerly dove in, anticipating the journey to Tourist Season, only to find that Love & Other Killers was recommended first. Let’s set the stage: this book is more of a delightful novella, a brief tale that whisked me away in under an hour. It intertwines with the characters from her previous trilogy, Ruinous Love. In hindsight, I could have bypassed this book entirely and remained perfectly fine, perhaps even saving some money in the process. I haven’t delved into Tourist Season yet, so I’m on the edge of my seat wondering if there’s something essential in this book that I may have missed. For those yearning for a reunion with the characters, this serves as a swift check-in filled with delightful banter, though I didn’t discover anything new about them. I’m not disparaging the book; it’s still worth reading for yourself. I was just a tad disappointed, as I know Brynne Weaver has so much more brilliance to offer!
